By KYP I originally saw this at Costco - Thomas the Train reader and 3 books but found that the online package pricing was cheaper. Each set of books are $15 - so buying this group set for $30 with 3 sets of books seems like a no-brainer.
Cons - The reader came with batteries but we couldn't get the thing to work - changed batteries and voila, it worked. The Reader isn't very study. My son took the 2 pieces apart, lucky for us, the cover doesn't have any wires/cables so it didn't break. Just needed to be snapped back on and it works. There aren't many books with this system and it won't grow with your child
Pros - It's cute, makes funny sounds, the narrator has different voices for different books. My kid likes to push the big buttons and turn the pages for the books.
This isn't something I see him being into for more than 10 minutes (or 1.5 books) at a time. It'd be great for a 20-30 minute car ride, or if your DVD player dies.
